KATRINA KAIF has come a long way from just being known as Salman Khan’s girlfriend.Recently Kat, as she’s fondly called, has been voted as the sexiest woman in the world by UK-based international magazine FHM and guess who’s all flustered with this news? Salman’s ex- girlfriend and Bachchan bahu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan!Sources say that Katrina getting international recognition has upset Aishwarya who is seething with anger and grumbling about Katrina.Our source reveals, “Ash is extremely jealous that Katrina has been voted the sexiest woman in the world because she sees it as a threat to her position in Hollywood. She has been trying to make a mark in foreign movies for a long time but to no great avail and she sees Katrina as big competition. Marriage may have made Ash secure but only in her private life. In her professional life Ash still wants to be Hollywood’s numero uno Indian actress. No actress from time immemorial wants to be ‘replaced’. Their egos get damaged.”Yet another industry insider reports, “Ash was telling a close friend that ‘many of these girls pay money to be on these fancy lists and it doesn’t mean anything’.A strange remark to make. Both the girls were successful models before entering Bollywood and both have been the face of the cosmetic brand Lakme.After a much publicised break-up with Salman, Ash dated Vivek Oberoi briefly and then went on to marry Abhishek Bachchan.All this while Ash’s career in Bollywood soared high and she even became an international celebrity after she started attending the Cannes Film Festival and was featured on the cover of Time magazine.Katrina on the other hand, was a UK based model trying her hand in Bollywood when she met Salman who was down and out post his break-up with Ash. Kat consoled Salman and soon the two became a couple. Being Salman’s girl came with a lot of fringe benefits, one of them being an easy entry into Bollywood.Katrina’s meteoric rise in Bollywood is nothing less than a miracle! She has done about half-a-dozen films, yet, she hasn’t picked up Hindi and all the diction classes haven’t helped.But despite all this Katrina has starred in some of the biggest box-office hits in the past two-years such as Namaste London, Partner and Welcome.While she didn’t have much to do in these films, nevertheless producers have noticed her box-office value. In fact, trade buzz is that Katrina is the second highest paid actress in Bollywood after Kareena Kapoor.She definitely is the highest paid actress to have done an item number in a film for a whopping Rs1.5 crores! Her future films include a YashRaj film, a Rajkumar Santoshi film opposite the hot Ranbir Kapoor, Vipul D Shah’s Singh is Kinng and Yuvraaj.Katrina has also formed a successful on-screen pairing with Akshay Kumar, with producers vying to sign the two actors as a couple.Akshay is one of the most sought after actors in Bollywood giving solo hits.While boyfriend Salman Khan doesn’t appreciate Katrina doing films with Akshay, Kat seems to be less than concerned and is open to working with most actors. She even considered signing a film opposite Shahid Kapoor though Salman doesn’t like Shahid much. Kat is thus making it clear that she is her own person.Married versus singleAsh on the other hand isn’t at the best phase of her career right now as she is a married woman.Marriage to Abhishek Bachchan did open a lot of doors within the industry but she also has the responsibility of being the Bachchan bahu which means no hot roles and no more sexy scenes. Her smooch with Hrithik Roshan and the sexy clothes in Dhoom 2 hadn’t gone down too well with mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan.More recently she had to refuse Karan Johar’s Dostana opposite her hubby Abhishek because the role required her to be hot and sexy and romance two guys.Katrina on the other hand doesn’t have any such issues. Apart from all this, Bollywood isn’t too kind to married actresses and producers see them more as a liability.To top it even age isn’t on Ash’s side, she’s in her early 30’s while Katrina is only 23 and has a much longer shelf life!Any wonder that Ash is getting insecure and edgy with Katrina’s rising fame!

Hamas calls on West to end boycott, as Gaza truce takes hold
GAZA CITY - A fragile truce took hold in the Gaza Strip Thursday, ending, for the time being at least, months of deadly violence and prompting Hamas to call for an end to the Western boycott against it.The truce - the result of months of indirect, Egyptian-led negotiations between Israel and the radical Islamic movement ruling Gaza - took effect at 6 am (0300 GMT) Thursday morning.But flexing their muscles in the hours before the deadline, Palestinian militants launched 32 rockets and more than 10 mortar shells at southern Israel, a military spokesman said Wednesday.Israel launched an airstrike at one group of the rocket launchers in the central Gaza Strip before dawn Thursday, killing a Hamas militant just one hour and a half before the truce began.After the truce took effect, an Israeli naval vessel also fired warning shots Wednesday morning at Palestinian fishing boats, which the military said had drifted into a 'closed security zone' on the maritime border between the northern Gaza Strip and Israel.Despite the last-minute violence, the truce took precarious hold and no more incidents were reported during its first hours Wednesday.Although Israel negotiated the truce with Hamas indirectly, internal Israeli critics have charged the deal grants legitimacy to the radical Islamic movement and recognition of it as the de-facto ruler of the Strip.Hamas too called on Western leaders 'to change their attitude' toward the movement after it committed to the truce.'We call on the international community to reconsider its decision to impose an embargo on the movement,' Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri told reporters in Gaza City.But European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana, although he welcomed the truce, said it was too early to say whether the EU could begin holding direct talks with Hamas, which the bloc considers a terrorist organization.The truce, he nevertheless said in Brussels, could create 'a dynamic that will allow political dialogue to continue.'Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Hamas was still a 'terrorist organization,' with which Israel did not and would not hold direct negotiations.'Hamas and the other terrorist organizations have not changed and have not become patrons of peace. These are contemptible and bloodthirsty terrorists,' Olmert told a conference near Tel Aviv.In an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald from Jerusalem published Thursday, he also warned that the truce was Hamas' last chance to avoid a massive military offensive in the Gaza Strip.Olmert was scheduled to travel to Egypt Tuesday, for talks with Egyptian President Hosny Mubarak on the truce brokered by Cairo.The first stage of the three-phase, six-month truce entails a mutual end of hostilities.According to Hamas officials, Israel is to lift severe restrictions on the entry of fuel into the Strip already in the first hours of the truce.As of Sunday, it is to ease restrictions on the entry of other goods.One week after, Cairo is to invite Hamas, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and European Union representatives for talks on a mechanism to open the Rafah border crossing between southern Gaza and Egypt.Israel has made the opening of Rafah conditional on the freedom of Israeli Corporal Gilad Shalit, held captive in Gaza by Hamas for the past two years.Intense, renewed negotiations on his release in exchange for Palestinian militants imprisoned in Israel are to begin simultaneously to the talks on Rafah, with the Israeli official charged with negotiating the prisoners swap, Ofer Dekel, also due to travel to Egypt next week.Shalit's parents have expressed outrage over the truce, saying they were promised by Olmert that Israel would not agree to a deal without securing guarantees for Shalit's release. Their lawyers sent a protest letter to the Israeli premier, threatening to petition to Israel's supreme court against the agreement.Western countries imposed a boycott on Hamas after it won the 2006 Palestinian parliamentary elections, but refused calls to renounce violence, honour past interim agreements calling for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and change its charter to accept Israel's right to exist.Europe and the United States have instead dealt only with Abbas of the rival Fatah party, who was elected in separate presidential elections a year earlier on a platform that did support a two-state solution.After a short-lived unity government with Fatah, Hamas seized sole control of the Gaza Strip one year ago, by ousting security forces loyal to Abbas and Fatah.Since the Gaza take-over, militants have launched more than 4,000 rockets and mortar shells at southern Israel, killing four Israelis. Israel's retaliatory strikes against militants in the densely- populated Strip have killed more than 360 Palestinians.

Soon PPP man will be President of the country: Zardari


LAHORE : PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari said here Thursday that the days are not far off when a PPP man would be President of the country and the President House would echo with Jiye Bhutto slogans. Speaking at the launching of Jehangir Badar’s book ‘The Evolution of Democracy’ at Aiwan-e-Iqbal he said, “ PPP has history of struggle against dictators and is ready to offer sacrifices for ensuring true democracy in the country.”The function was attended by PPP leaders and intellectuals besides a large number of workers.Amid vociferous slogans of workers he said, “ PPP has the credit of making Pervez Musharraf a civilian president while its struggle against dictatorial forces would continue.”He said PPP is proud of having given supreme sacrifices for the cause of democracy.”Our founder chairman was martyred while Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto also laid down her life for the same cause.”The PPP Co-chairman said it is due to sacrifices by PPP leader and workers that people across the country not only vote for PPP but are prepared to offer every sacrifice for it.He said dictatorial forces in their bid to crush PPP badly failed and those who conspired against PPP and its leaders have eliminated themselves.Asif Ali Zardari said that PPP leaders and workers are committed to the mission of founding chairman for which they can give every sacrifice.He said when first attack was made on Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s caravan in Karachi on october 18 many had asked her to do politics by remaining at home like many other politicians. But she refused saying “ I am daughter of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and can sacrifice even my life for the cause of my people and democracy.”The PPP Co-Chairman said Benazir was assassinated but her mission is continuing and soon President, Prime Minister and chief ministers would go to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to make a pledge to accomplish the mission.Amid deafening slogans of ‘Zinda hae BiBi Zinda hae’, and ‘Jiye Bhutto,’ he said PPP is committed to achieving the objective of providing bread, clothes and house to every countrymen.He said the basic aim of the struggle of the party was to ensure betterment of the masses and the march forward in this regard would continue despite any odds.The PPP has faced dictators in the past and if needed its vanguards are ready to face such forces in future.He said it was Bhuttoism that when Benazir was attacked on December 27, PPP workers rushed towards their beloved leader without caring for their lives, instead of fleeing.PPP Co-Chairman said those who intrigued against PPP and committed excesses with its leader to eliminate PPP, were today themselves on the run and are running to different countries.He said PPP believed in democratic norms and wanted to take all political forces along adding that it is for the first time in the history of the country that Chief Executive of Balochistan belonged to PPP.He said PPP leaders and workers would give blood donation on the occasion birth anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on June 21 renewing their pledge not to refrain from offering any sacrifice for the cause of democracy.Earlier,Jehangir Badar speaking on the occasion said that he has dedicated his book ‘The Evolution of Democracy’ to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and its foreword was written by her.Through a resolution which was unanimously approved by people, he said as a mark of respect to struggle and supreme sacrifice offered by Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, people belonging to all sections of society including workers, lawyers, students, ulema, intellectuals, traders, politicians and members of assemblies demand of the government of Pakistan to declare June 21, birth day of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto as ‘Quaid-e-Jamuriat Day’ and December 27, the day when she embraced martyrdom as ‘Shaheed-e-Jamuriat Day.”Dr. Mehdi Hassan, an intellectual, speaking on the occasion said that democracy could not flourish in the country because establishment always targeted PPP and hatched conspiracies against it.He said Ziaul Haq executed founder Chairman of the party Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto through judiciary while his widow and daughter were put behind bars and later sent in exile.He said when PPP again came into power with the support of masses after the death of Ziaul Haq in plane crash, again conspiracies were hatched and even IJI was founded to counter PPP.He said now there is coalition government in the country which is new experiment in the political history of the country.He said in a coalition government, partners are responsible for decisions and acts of the government and if a coalition partner behaves like opposition, it causes damage to coalition.He said as per Charter of Democracy signed by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif any judge who take oath under PCO cannot remain judge.

PPP does not accept Pervez Musharraf as Constitutional President: Zardari

ISLAMABAD: Co-Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party, Asif Ali Zardari Wednesday said although PPP does not accept President Pervez Musharraf as constitutional head of state, but indeed he is sitting in presidency as a reality. Speaking with private TV channel (Waqt News) he said, “I have told the friends that Pervez Musahrraf is a ground reality. After all, PPP’s Prime Minister is working with him and he is sitting as President of Pakistan.”Asif Ali Zardari said, PPP launched campaign against him. It was the PPP, which raised slogans against the President.Co-Chairman PPP said, the parliament would decide the future of President Pervez Musharraf in due course of time.To a question he said, views of other political parties would be sought to corporate in the proposed constitutional package.The PPP leader said, media has started a movement for the restoration of the judiciary. He was of the view that the results would have been much better, had it started the movement for supremacy of democracy earlier.He added that the government became more strengthened rather than becoming weak after long march of lawyers.Zardari said, Aitzaz Ahsan led the long march against the party’s policy, but the PPP has not issued-show cause notice to him on this gross violation.He said, the issue of protective custody of Dr.Abdul Qadeer Khan was created by the pervious government and its continuity is still there. But he assured that he would resolve Dr. A.Q Khan issue .He reiterated his party’s position that the strength of the judges has been increased in the finance bill in consultation with Mian Nawaz Sharif.The judges currently working in superior judiciary will remain on their posts on the restoration of the deposed judges, he said adding, “ We are not challenging the position of Mian Nawaz Sharif on the issue”.Asif Ali Zardari said that PPP is still waiting for PML (N) ministers to join federal cabinet. He said, if PPP would also call back their ministers from the Punjab cabinet, then the politics of ‘Chang Mang’ would be restarted.

Govt committed to press freedom: Sherry

ISLAMABAD: Information and Broadcasting Minister Sherry Rehman on Thursday reiterated that the government was committed to freedom of press and said attack on a private television channel is being probed. Speaking in the National Assembly after a walkout by the journalists from the press gallery, she said Seraiki channel ‘Kook’ in Multan was attacked by some persons and one of them has been arrested.She said on the orders of the Prime Minister an investigation into the incident is being carried out which has revealed that the attack was carried out by private persons.Sherry assured the house that the rest of the attackers would also be arrested.About the ban on two programmes of Geo Television, she categorically stated that the government was not involved.“We are committed to the freedom of press and we have got nothing to do with the forces that have talked to Dubai authorities for a ban,” she stated.Sherry said the government was ready to offer Geo TV landing rights through Pakistan Television and other technical facilities like landing rights which were now available in the country.She said that as already stated by her, there will never be a ban or blackout of any programme on any channel by the present government.

Pakistan says A Q Khan episode closed, no knowledge of compact weapon design
WASHINGTON : Pakistan Thursday said the A.Q. Khan episode is closed and the country has no knowledge of the design of a compact nuclear weapon, reportedly found in some computers in Switzerland. A Pakistani spokesman in Washington also ruled out direct access to Dr Khan.“Pakistan carried out a thorough debriefing of all involved and shared details with the International Atomic Energy Agency and friends such as the United States.“The network, as much as it was in Pakistan’s jurisdiction, was shut down. The international community, including the United States, has taken steps to shut down other parts of that illegal nuclear proliferation network,” Press Attache, Nadeem Kiani wrote in The USA Today. Spelling out Pakistan’s views in an opinion piece “The Episode is Closed” written in response to an editorial appearing in the newspaper, Kiani stated that Dr. Khan is under house arrest and is suffering from cancer. He has been allowed greater access to the phone and is now allowed to meet with some relatives and close friends. “Even so, he remains under constant guard. There is no letting up of vigilance.”Pakistan, he reminded, has implemented a series of measures, many in consultation with countries such as the United States, to ensure airtight proliferation controls. “Pakistan continues to share any information with its friends and remains vigilant against proliferators. “Direct access to Dr. Khan is not possible because he still knows important details of Pakistan’s strategic deterrent. Being privy to this information is the right of Pakistan ‘s defenders and leaders only.”“Pakistan has no knowledge of the design of a compact nuclear weapon, reportedly found in some computers in Switzerland. Dr. Khan has also expressed ignorance of these.“As far asPakistan is concerned, the A.Q. Khan episode is closed. There will be no repeat of it,” he concluded.

4 soldiers of Pakistan Army embrace shahadat in firing near LoC
ISLAMABAD: Four soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced shahdat while three others suffered injures when a patrol party came under attack by unknown assailants from a jungle in Buttle sector of Hajira along the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday. Director General ISPR Major Gen. Athar Abass confirming the news report said that the patrol party of Pakistan Army came under armed attack of unknown assailants from a jungle in Azad Kashmir area. In retaliation to that, he said Pakistan Army responded and cross-fire is continuing till filing of the story.He said the assailants were using small arms.To a question, he said due to the location of the scene nothing could be confirmed about the happening till the finding of the investigations which are being conducted.He said the jungle from where the fire was coming is located inside Pakistan territory but situated along the LoC.

Presidential spokesman clarifies news item
ISLAMABAD: The Presidential spokesman has termed as totally incorrect a news item appearing in a section of the media that the President had briefed journalists on Wednesday, June 18 in which he is reported to have said that the previous government was responsible for the economic problems that the country is facing today.The spokesman added that the President is of the view that “never has the economy of Pakistan performed as well as it has done in the last 5 years i.e up to mid 2007.”The spokesman stated that it was unfortunate that such fictitious news items were being circulated in the media and remarks were being attributed to the President that he has never made.

Parliamentarians for slash of President’s allowances
ISLAMABAD: The members of the Lower House of the Parliament Thursday demanded further slashing of allowances of the President, under the head of Charged expenditure. The House discussed the charged expenditure included in demands for grants and appropriations for the year ending on June 30, 2009.The government has demanded an amount of Rs. 353,847,000/- for staff, household and allowances of the President.Opening the discussion, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said that the members can only discuss the charged expenditure “while it can not be amended on our proposals.”He said when the Parliament and Prime Minister secretariats have reduced their budgets then there is no justification for such a huge amount for President who has just a ceremonial role in democratic government.Khurram Dastagir also expressed his displeasure that members of the Parliament can only discuss these expenditures but cannot amend it.He said an amount of Rs. 230 million has been demanded under the head of other expenditure of Foreign Affairs Division which, he alleged would be spent on foreign tours of the President.Sher Baloch said the National Assembly has to approve the charged expenditures despite the fact that our conscience does not allow it.He said while approving such huge funding, we should not forget the people who are suffering badly from poverty.Hamid Saeed Kazmi said the presentation of charged expenditures before National Assembly is futile exercise as the lawmakers have no power to amend it.The Speaker National Assembly made it clear that the passage of these expenditures is constitutional obligation, which can only be amended by the Assembly with the two-third majority of the House.Shamshad Bachani called for slashing the expenditures of President and added that the government should also ensure transparent expenditures of elections because poor arrangements on the polling booths shows the opposite picture.Ahsan Iqbal said the allocation of Rs350 million for President is unjustifiable and added that in years 1998 and 1999, former President Rafiq Tarar had reduced the budget of Presidency from Rs320 million to Rs160 million.

Judges be reinstated through parliament: Fehmida Mirza

ISLAMABAD : National Assembly Speakder Dr. Fehmida Mirza Thursday said that judges should be reinstated through the parliament. In an interview with private tv channel (Express News), she said a constitutional package would soon be tabled in the parliament.Dr. Fehmida said all laws coming in the way of supremacy of the parliament will be abolished.The Speaker also said that as part of the parliament the President must address a joint session. She said address of the President is a requirement of the constitution and she has also issued a ruling in this regard.She said the Prime Minister would soon send a summary to the president inviting him to address the parliament.To a question she said appointment of heads of standing committees would be started after the budget session.She said the government and opposition are extending full support in running the affairs of parliament. The Speaker said she is not facing any problem in running the house.

Moral development of students responsibility of teachers: President

RAWALPINDI: President Pervez Musharraf Thursday said the moral development of students is the responsibility of teachers and they should ensure that the young generation understands and rejects corruption and nepotism. He was talking to a delegation of teachers and students of Karachi University who called on him here, according to an official press release.The President, while describing the purpose of education, observed that wholesome education must include overall grooming of a student resulting in intellectual, physical, moral and social development.Talking about good governance, the President said that responsibility of any and all governments is to ensure the security, progress and development of the nation and welfare and well being of its people.The press release said the students were of the view that looking at Pakistan’s history they found that development of the country occurred in two distinct periods of Ayub Khan and President Musharraf and that they were unable to understand the reason as to why governments change policies which are constructive and good just because the government has changed.It said the students also asked questions on different issues of their interest, including media’s role and the future of the National Internship Program (NIP).

Pakistani forces were not targeted: US

WASHINGTON : The United States is for better coordination between Pakistani forces and international forces on Afghan side of the border, a senior State Department official said while denying suggestions that the U.S. forces targeted Pakistani military in the Mohmand border strike incident last week. Donald Camp, a senior official on South Asian Affairs, was confident that through a joint probe the two countries would get to the bottom of what actually happened.“I can certainly say that there was no targeting of Pakistani military, absolutely not,” Donald Camp a senior State Department official for South Asia told a conference of Pakistani American Congress, where he also acknowledged the country’s massive anti-terror efforts on the Afghan border.Commenting on contents of a New York Times story, Camp said the circumstances of what actually happened in Mohmand tribal border area are still murky. “But the U.S. forces are by no means targeting Pakistani security forces,” he stressed in reply to a question on the incident which resulted in the death of 11 Pakistani personnel deployed on the border post.At the Pentagon, Press Secretary Geoff Morrell said the Pakistani military is “an organization we work very closely with, and we take them at their word. When they tell us that some of their members were killed in that attack—and if that is indeed the case, that is most regrettable and unfortunate, and we express our sympathy to their families.”“That said, this is a matter that still has to be investigated, and we are now in the earliest stages of that investigation.” Camp, who is Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs, was confident that the two counties would get to conclusions very soon.Pakistan had reacted strongly to the incident calling it a cowardly action and Islamabad’s envoy in Washington said Tuesday that the unfortunate incident had hurt the Pakistani nation.The New York Times in a dispatch from Islamabad reported that the incident threatened to put on hold a U.S. plan for training of a Pakistani paramilitary force in the border region as some officials saw it a deliberate fire.On Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts, Camp said, the country has been doing an “enormous amount” in attempting to control its tribal areas along Afghan border.There are more than 100,000 Pakistani security forces in and around the border and that is a very important consideration. “What we have to have is better understanding of what is going on the border, better coordination, that is why I talked about the border coordination centers so that security forces in Afghanistan can talk to security forces in Pakistan so that we have an understanding of what is going on there, trying to avoid the tragic incident that happened in Mohmand area.”I think President “Karzai saying Pakistan can do more or should do more is his personal view,” he replied when asked about Kabul’s recent assertions that Pakistan needs to do more.

Rs 3290.615 bln Charged Expenditure presented to NA
ISLAMABAD : Minister for Finance Syed Naveed Qamar Thursday presented Charged Expenditure of Rs 3290.615 billion to the lower House of the Parliament. The minister presented these charged expenditure included in the demands for grants and appropriations for year ending on June 30, 2009 as provided under article 82 of the Constitution.These charged expenditure include superannuation allowances and pension, civil works, National Assembly, Senate, Pakistan railways, external development loans, President House, servicing of foreign and domestic debt, foreign loans payment, audit, Supreme court, election and some other departments.As shown in details, the major chunk of the charged expenditure is for repayment of domestic debt, servicing of domestic debt and foreign loans repayment.Charged Expenditure were also discussed by the members in the House with certain recommendations and cut in some of the allocations.

NA adopts 127 demands for grant worth Rs 1098.849 bln
ISLAMABAD : National Assembly Thursday adopted motions to approve 127 demands for grants worth Rs. 1098.849 billion out of total 179 demands for the fiscal 2009-09. Minister for Finance, Syed Naveed Qamar moved the motions to the House one by one which were adopted with majority vote without discussion as there were no cut motions on these demands for grants.After approval of these demands, the remaining demands out of the total lay out of Rs. 1339.577 billion demands of grants, would be taken up on upcoming days.The demands for grants approved Thursday pertained to Defence, Defence Services, Defence Production, Commerce, Culture, Education, Environment, Finance, Food Agriculture and Livestock, Foreign Affairs, Housing and Works, Industries and Production, IT, Railways, Port and Shipping divisions and Information and Broadcasting, National Savings, Pension and Allowance, FBR and some other divisions and departments.From Friday, the House would take up some of the remaining demands of grants and discuss these demands on opposition’s cut motions.

بٹل پونچھ ۔ بھارتی فوج کی جمعرات کے روز آزادکشمیر کے سرحدی علاقے بٹل پونچھ پر شدید فائرنگ جس سے4پاکستانی فوجی شہید 3 فوجیوں سمیت متعدد افراد زخمی ہو گئے ۔ علاقے میں خوف وہراس پیدا ہو گیا ۔ تفصیلات کے مطابق بٹل پونچھ میں لائن آف کنٹرول کے دوسری طرف سے بھارتی فوج نے دن 11:00بجے بلا اشتعال فائرنگ شروع کردی جس سے4پاکستانی فوجی شہید اور 3فوجیوں سمیت متعدد افراد زخمی ہو گئے ۔ لائن آف کنٹرول پر بھارتی فوجیوں کی فائرنگ کے حوالے سے پاک فوج کے ترجمان میجر جنرل اطہر عباس نے ایک نجی ٹی وی سے گفتگو میں تفصیلات سے آگاہ کرتے ہوئے بتایاکہ ہمارا فوجی قافلہ معمول کی پٹرولنگ ڈیوٹی پر تھا کہ اس پر ایک جنگل سے اچانک فائرنگ شروع کردی گئی جس کے نیتجہ میں دو فوجی موقع پر ہی شہید ہو گئے جبکہ دو شدید زخمی ہو گئے تھے جنہوں نے زخموں کی تاب نہ لاتے ہوئے بعد میں جام شہادت نوش کیا جبکہ تین فوجی معمولی زخمی بھی ہوئے جنرل اطہر عباس نے بتایاکہ اس واقعہ کے بعد مزید ایک پٹرولنگ قافلہ جائے حادثہ پر بھی بھیجا گیا تاکہ وہ پتہ چلا سکے کہ یہ فائرنگ کس نے کی تاہم تاحال یہ نہیں بتایا جا سکتا کہ اس واقعہ میں کون لوگ ملوث ہیں ۔

واشنگٹن :امریکہ میں پاکستانی سفیر حسین حقانی نے کہا ہے کہ پاکستان کو عراق اور افغانستان بنانا ہمارے حق میں بہتر نہیں ہے ۔عوام کو یہ بات سمجھائی جائے کہ دہشت گردی کے خلاف جنگ ہماری جنگ ہے۔ہم نے امریکہ سے18 ارب ڈالر کی مدد حاصل ہے ۔امریکہ مخالفت میں ’’ ہتھ ہولا ‘‘ رکھا جائے کیونکہ امریکہ سپر پاور ہے ۔امریکہ سے بہتر تعلقات کیلئے پاکستان میں موجود امریکہ مخالف تنظیموں پر پابندی لگاناہو گی پاکستان دہشت گردی کے خلاف جنگ میں امریکہ کے ساتھ جو تعاون کر رہاہے اپنے لئے کر رہاہے ایک ٹی وی انٹرویو میں انہو ںنے کہاکہ اپنی خواہش کو فیصلہ بنانے سے معاملات حل نہیں ہوںگے۔پاکستان میں کچھ تنظیمیں امریکہ مخالف ہیں اُن کو ختم کرنا ہوگا انہوں نے کہا جو دوست کہتے ہیں کہ امریکہ کی دہشت گردی کے خلاف جنگ میں حمایت چھوڑ دیں وہ غلط کہتے ہیں دہشت گردی کے خلاف جنگ ہماری اپنی جنگ ہے لیاقت باغ کے باہر دہشت گردی میں کوئی امریکی نہیں مارا گیا بلکہ ہمارے اپنے ہی لوگ مارے گئے ہیں انہوں نے کہاکہ آج بھی جب آپ ملک میں سفرکرتے ہیں تو آپ کو کئی دیواروں پر امریکہ مخالف نعرے لکھے نظر آتے ہیں جن میں ’’کل روس کو ٹوٹتے دیکھا تھا اب انڈیا ٹوٹتے دیکھیں گے ، ہم بن کے جہاد کے شعلوں سے امریکہ جلتا دیکھیں گے‘‘ جیسے نعرے شامل ہیں ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ ایک دم امریکہ سے تعاون ختم نہیں کیا جاسکتا پاکستان کو عراق اور افغانستان بنانا اور صدام حسین جیسے لوگ کھڑے کرنا ہمارے حق میں نہیں ہے انہوں نے کہاکہ پاکستان 1954ء سے امریکہ کا حلیف ہے ۔ دونوں ممالک نے ایک دوسرے کو مدد دی ہے۔دوستوں اور دشمنوں کے درمیان مسائل حل کرنے اور اختلافات کے طریقہ کار مختلف ہوتے ہیں۔ ہم نے امریکہ سے 18ارب ڈالر کی مدد حاصل کی ہے اور جو کچھ کیاہیامریکہ کے لئے نہیں بلکہ اپنے لئے کیاہے انہوں نے کہاکہ پاکستان میں پرائیڈ کے نام پر لوگوں کے جذبات بھڑکانے کا سلسلہ بند ہونا چاہیے اور لوگوں کو یہ بات بتانی چاہیے کہ دہشت گردی کے خلاف جنگ ہماری جنگ ہے۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ اگرہم نے اس جنگ کو اپنی جنگ سمجھ کر لڑا ہوتا تو آج ہم دہشت گردی کو ختم کر چکے ہیں اور امریکہ کو بھی پاکستانی حدود میں مداخلت کا موقع نہ ملتا انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں امریکہ مخالفت میں ’’ ہتھ ہولا ‘‘ رکھا جائے کیونکہ امریکہ سپر پاور ہے انہوں نے کہاکہ پاکستان میں دہشت گرد تنظیمیں موجود ہیں جن تنظیموں پر ہم نے پابندی لگائی تھی انہوں نے نئے نام سے تنظیمیں بنا لی ہیں

بہت جلد صدر پاکستان پی پی پی کا ہوگا اورایوان صدر میں جئے بھٹو کے نعرے لگیں گے ۔آصف علی زرداری

لاہور ۔ پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کے شریک چیئرمین آصف علی زرداری نے دعوی کیا ہے کہ بہت جلد صدر پاکستان پی پی پی کا ہو گا اورایوان صدر میں جئے بھٹو کے نعرے لگیں گے ۔ وزیر اعظم اور چاروں صوبائی وزرائے اعلی کو گڑھی خدا بخش لیکر جاؤں گا اور جئے بھٹو کے نعرے لگواؤں گا ۔ محترمہ بے نظیر بھٹو کی سالگرہ اور شہادت کے روز کو اپنے خون سے لکھ کر تاریخ رقم کریںگے ۔ ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے گزشتہ روز ایوان اقبال میں پی پی پی کے سیکرٹری جنرل جہانگیر بدر کی کتاب’’ایولوشن آف ڈیمو کریسی(جمہوریت کا ارتقاء) کی تقریب رونمائی کے موقع پر کیا ۔ اس موقع پر جہانگیر بدر اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مہدی حسن نے بھی خطاب کیا جبکہ سٹیج سیکرٹری کے فرائض پی پی پی کے بانی رکن اسلم گورداس پوری نے سرانجام دیئے ۔ اس موقع پر جہانگیر بدر نے قرار دادمیں حکومت سے مطالبہ کیا کہ محترمہ بے نظیر بھٹو شہید کے یوم پیدائش کو ’’جمہوریت ڈے ‘‘ اور شہادت کے روز کو شہید جمہوریت ڈے قرار دیا جائے ۔ اس موقع پر جئے بھٹو اور زندہ ہے بی بی زندہ ہے کے مسلسل نعرے لگتے رہے۔آصف علی زرداری نے اپنے خطاب میں مزید کہا کہ ذوالفقار علی بھٹو اور محترمہ بے نظیر بھٹو مر کر بھی زندہ ہیں جس کی واضح مثال یہ ہے کہ ایک ڈکٹیٹر جس نے ذوالفقار علی بھٹو کوختم کیا آج اس کے نام پر اس کی اولادکو بھی کوئی ووٹ نہیں دیتا جبکہ بھٹو شہید کے نام پر آج بھی ووٹ بنک بھرپور انداز میں موجود ہے ۔ بے نظیر کے افتتاحی جلوس میں جیالے جانیں دے کر پچھے نہیں ہٹے بلکہ اس وقت بھی وہ جئے بھٹو کے نعرے لگا رہے تھے اور ثابت کر رہے تھے کہ یزیدوں کا کام یزیدیت کرنا جبکہ ہمارا نصب العین حسینیت کی پیروی کرنا ہے ۔ انہوں نے ہال میں موجود لوگوں کو مخاطب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ وہ وقت دور نہیں ہے جب ایوان صدر میں صدر کے منصب پر پی پی پی کا نمائندہ فائز ہو گا اس تاریخی موقع پر بلاول ، بختاور ، آصفہ ، آپ اور میں بھی موجود ہونگے اور جئے بھٹو کے نعرے لگیں گے ۔عنقریب وزیر اعظم اور چاروں صوبائی وزرائے اعلی کو گڑھی خدا بخش لیکر جاوں گا ۔ فاتحہ خوانی کے بعد جئے بھٹو کے نعرے لگواؤں گا ۔ محترمہ کے افتتاحی جلوس پر جب بم دھماکہ ہوا اور چالیس جیالوں نے جام شہادت نوش فرمایا تو کمیٹی نے فیصلہ کیا کہ محترمہ آپ گھر بیٹھ کر ٹی وی پر سیاست کریں آپ کی جان کو خطرہ ہے مگر محترمہ نے یہ کہہ کر انکار کر دیا تھا کہ میں شہید ذوالفقار علی بھٹو کی بیٹی ہوں میری جڑیں عوام میں ہیں ان سے کسی قیمت پر بھی دور نہیں رہ سکتی ۔ جب بھی ملک پر آمر نے قبضہ کیا ہے تو پی پی پی نے ہی اس کا ڈٹ کر مقابلہ کیا ہے سازشیں خوف زدہ ہیں انہیں معلوم ہو چکا ہے کہ شہیدوں کا قافلہ آچکا ہے وہ خوف کے مارے ادھر ادھر بھاگ رہے ہیں انہوں نے سابق ڈائریکٹر جنرل انٹیلی جنس بیورو بریگیڈئر اعجاز شاہ کا نام لئے بغیر کہا کہ کوئی آسٹریلیابھاگ چکا ہے تا ہم سب کو حساب دینا ہو گا ۔ اس موقع پر جہانگیر بدر نے قرار پیش کر کے حکومت سے مطالبہ کیا کہ 21 جون محترمہ بے نظیر بھٹو کی ولادت کا دن ہے اسے ’’ جمہوریت ڈے قرار دیا جائے ‘‘ اور 27 دسمبر شہادت کے روز کو ’’شہید جمہوریت ڈے قرار دیا جائے ۔ اپنی کتاب کے متعلق انہوں نے بتایا کہ میں نے اپنی کتاب کو شہید محترمہ کے نام پر منسوب کر دیا ہے جس میں محترمہ کی زندگی کے مختلف ادوار اور سیاسی زندگی کے متعلق روشنی ڈالی گئی ہے ۔ کتاب محترمہ کی زندگی میں مکمل ہو چکی تھی مگر مصروفیات کے باعث اس کی رونمائی نہیں ہو سکتی تھی ۔ مہدی حسن نے کہا کہ موجودہ دور میں کولیشن حکومت چل رہی ہے جس میں دونوں جماعتوں کو باہمی مشورے اور اتفاق رائے سے عوام کی خدمت کرنا چاہیے اگر ایک پارٹنر دوسرے پر تنقید کر کے اپوزیشن والا رویہ اختیار کرلے تو کولیشن حکومت کا چلنا ممکن نہیں رہتا جمہوریت کیلئے جتنی قربانیاں پی پی پی نے دی ہیں کسی دوسری جماعت کے حصہ میں نہیں ہیں جس کا گواہ گڑھی خدابخش کا قبرستان ہے ۔ انہو ںنے جہانگیر بدر کی کتاب کے متعلق بتایا کہ بے نظیر کی دونوں حکومتوںکے اختتام کی وجہ یہ بخوبی جانتے ہیںمگر انہوں نے بیان اس لئے نہیں کیا کہ یہ سیاسی آدمی ہیں ورنہ یہ حقائق سے بخوبی آگاہ ہیں ۔

پیپلز پارٹی پرویز مشرف کو صدر نہیں مانتی مگر وہ ایک حقیقت ہے۔ آصف علی زرداری

اسلام آباد ۔ پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کے شریک چیئرمین آصف علی زرداری نے کہاہے کہ پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی پرویز مشرف کو صدر نہیں مانتی مگر وہ ایک حقیقت ہیں۔ ڈاکٹر قدیر کا مسئلہ سابقہ حکومت کا پیدا کردہ ہے وہی اسے حل کرے۔ بجٹ میں ججز کی تعداد بڑھا کر رقم رکھنے کا مقصد معزول ججز کی بحالی کے کام کا آغاز ہے ہم بھی اگر (ن) لیگ کی طرح پنجاب سے وزارتیں چھور دیتے تو چھانگا مانگا کی تاریخ دہرائی جاتی۔ میڈیا نے جتنی کوریج ججز کی بحالی کو دی اتنی کوریج اگر جمہوریت کی بحالی کو دی جاتی تو نتائج بہت بہتر ہوتے آج ایک نجی ٹی وی انٹرویومیں آصف علی زرداری نے کہاکہ فنانس بل میں ججز کی تعداد میں اضافہ نواز شریف کے مشورے سے کیاگیا تھا پیپلز پارٹی صدر پرویز مشرف کو صدر نہیں مانتے مگر وہ ایک حقیقت ہیں۔ یحییٰ خان کی وردی کے تنازعہ سے ملک ٹوٹ گیا مگر بے نظیر بھٹو نے پرویزمشرف کی وردی اتروا کر جمہوریت کی راہ ہموار کی آصف علی زرداری نے ایک سوال پر کہاکہ میں تو سزا کاٹ چکا ہوں این آر او کا مجھے نہیں بلکہ تمام جماعتو ںکے کارکنوں کو فائدہ ہوا انہوں نے کہاکہ این آر او کے تحت ناجائز مقدمات ختم کئے گئے۔ آصف علی زرداری نے کہاکہ ذوالفقار علی بھٹو کے بعد پہلی بار پیپلز پارٹی نے سب سے زیادہ ووٹ حاصل کئے۔ آصف علی زرداری نے کہاکہ صدر کے پاس کافی اختیارات ہیں جنہیں آئینی پیکج کے ذریعے ختم کریں گے۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ میڈیا نے جتنی کوریج ججز کی بحالی کو دی ہے اتنی کوریج اگر جمہوریت کی بحالی کو دی ہوتی تو نتائج بہتر ہوتے زرداری نے کہاکہ میثاق جمہوریت کے مطابق پی سی او کے تحت حلف اٹھانے والا جج نہیں رہ سکتا مگر ہم نواز شریف کی اس بارے پوزیشن کو چیلنج نہیں کر سکتے۔ ہم چاہتے ہیں کہ معزول ججز بحال ہوں اور موجودہ ججز بھی ڈسٹرب نہ ہوں انہوں نے کہاکہ بجٹ میں ججز کی تعداد بڑھا کر رقم رکھنے کا مقصد ججز کی بحالی کے کام کا آغاز ہے۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ نواز شریف سے ہمارا کوئی اختلاف نہیں ہے ہم میاں نواز شریف کی مشاورت سے کام کر رہے ہیں اگر پیپلز پارٹی بھی پنجاب سے وزارتیں چھوڑ دیتی تو چھانگا مانگا کی تاریخ دہرائی جاتی ۔ غلام اسحاق خان نے مجھ پر کئی مقدمات بنائے میں ان میں سے14میں بری ہوا ۔ آصف علی زرداری نے کہاکہ میں پھر کہتا ہوں کہ موجودہ ججز بھی رہیں گے اور معزول ججز بھی ضرور بحال ہوں گے- انہوں نے کہاکہ عوام کیلئے صرف ججز کی بحالی ہی مسئلہ نہیں بلکہ مہنگائی بے روزگاری ، بجلی ، پانی کی کمی اور دیگر بہت سے مسائل بھی ہیں جن سے انہیں نجات دلایا جانا ضروری ہے پاکستان سٹیل ملز کی یونین پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی نے پہلی بار جیتی ہے ہم نے آتے ہی یونین بحال کر دیں تھیں عوام کو ان کا حق دے دیا گیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ لانگ مارچ سے حکومت مزید مضبوط ہوئی ہے ہم نے لانگ مارچ کی مکمل آزادی دی ۔انہوں نے کہاکہ ن(ن) لیگ نے مرکز سے وزراء نکال لئے مگر پی پی پی نے پنجاب سے نہیں نکالے۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ قومی مفاہمت کا مقصد ملک کو بچانا ہے۔ انہوں نے ایک سوال پر کہا کہ اعتزاز احسن پارٹی پالیسی کے خلاف لانگ مارچ کر رہے ہیں مگر پارٹی نے انہیں اس پر کوئی نوٹس نہیں دیا پارٹی کو مضبوط کرنے کیلئے ضروری ہے کہ پاکستان کو مضبوط کیاجائے۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ لانگ مارچ سے حکومت کمزور نہیں بلکہ مضبوط ہوئی ہے آصف علی زرداری نے کہاکہ پیپلز پارٹی کو لگنی والی ضرب بہت گہری ہے جسے کبھی بھلایا نہیں جا سکتا ۔ ذوالفقار علی بھٹو کی شہادت سے ہونے والا نقصان ابھی تک پورا نہیں ہوا ۔ڈاکٹر عبدالقدیر کا مسئلہ پچھلی حکومت کا پیداکردہ ہے اس کا تسلسل موجود ہے وہی اسے حل کرے۔انہوں نے کہاکہ فنانس بل میں ججز کی تعداد میں اصافہ ، نواز شریف کے مشورے سے کیاگیا تھا ۔ گزشتہ روز لاہور میں نواز شریف سے ملاقات کے بارے میں انہوں نے کہاکہ یہ ایک محض ملاقات تھی اورمیں لاہور آؤں اور ان سے نہ ملوں یہ کیسے ممکن ہے انہوں نے کہاکہ میرا میاں نواز شریف سے کوئی اختلاف نہیں ہے ۔

لاہور ۔ پاکستان مسلم لیگ ن کے قائد میاں نواز شریف کے مد مقابل ضمنی الیکشن میں امیدوار شاہد اورکزئی نے میاں نواز شریف کی اہلیت اور غیر منتخب وزراء کی نا اہلی کے لئے الگ الگ مزید دو درخواستیں الیکشن ٹربیونل میں دائر کر دی ہیں ۔ میاں نواز شریف کے خلاف دائر کی گئی درخواست میں موقف اختیار کیا گیا ہے کہ میاں نواز شریف ماضی میں فاٹا سے منتخب ارکان کو خریدنے میں ملوث رہے ہیں اس لئے ایسا شخص الیکشن لڑنے کا اہل نہیں ہو سکتا جس پر الیکشن ٹربیونل نے میاں نواز شریف 23 جون کیلئے نوٹس جاری کر دیا ہے ۔ شاہد اورکزئی نے ایک اور درخواست صوبائی وزیر قانون رانا ثناء اللہ خان اور میاں مجتبی شجاع الرحمن کے خلاف دائر کی ہے جس میں موقف اختیار کیاگ یا ہے کہ یہ دونوں وزراء سابق وزیر اعلی سردار دوست محمد کھوسہ کی کابینہ میں بھی شامل رہے ہیں جبکہ اب میاں شہباز شریف کی کابینہ کے بھی رکن ہیں ۔ آئین کی روح سے کوئی غیر منتخب شخص صرف ایک بار وزیر بن سکتا ہے اس لئے ان دونوں افراد کو وزارت کے لئے نا اہل قرار دیا جائے جس پر عدالت نے میاں مجتبی شجاع الرحمن اور رانا ثناء اللہ کو بھی 23 جون کے لئے نوٹس جاری کر دیئے ہیں ۔

نئی دہلی ۔ کارگل لڑائی کے دوران فوج کی قیادت کرنے والے جنرل وی پی ملک نے اس وقت کی حکومت پر الزام عائد کیا ہے کہ حکومت کو خطرہ کا احساس نہیں تھا جس کے نتیجہ میں 1999ء کے دوران جنگ چھڑ گئی تھی۔ فوجی حکمت عملی میں ظاہر کردہ تجزیہ جس میں یہ کہا گیا تھا کہ تمام کوششوں کے باوجود بھی جنگ چھڑ سکتی ہے کا حوالہ دیتے ہوئے انہوں نے بتایا کہ جو لوگ اس بات پر شک و شبہ کا اظہار کر رہے ہیں میں انہیں کارگل جنگ کی یاد دہانی کرنا چاہوں گا جو وزیر اعظم بھارت اور پاکستان کی جانب سے بڑی تشہیر کے ساتھ لاہور اعلامیہ پر دستخط کے بعد بھڑک اٹھی تھی۔ بریگیڈرریٹائرڈ (گرمیت) کنول کی تحریر کردہ کتاب ’’ ہندوستانی فوجی ڈویژن 2020‘‘کے پیش لفظ میں وی پی ملک نے بتایا کہ فوجی تاریخ سے اس بات کا اظہار ہوتا ہے کہ جو ممالک تاریخی عزم و ارادہ کو نظر انداز کرتے ہیں ، وہ خود کو اچانک فوجی کارروائی ، شکست و رسوائی کی زد میں لا کھڑا کرتے ہیں۔ کارگل جنگ کے حوالہ دئیے بغیر انہوں نے اس بات پر زود یا کہ سکیورٹی منصوبوں سے جنگ کے مکمل داہرہ کار کی ضرورتوں کی تکمیل ہونی چاہیے۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ سیاسی داخلی سیاسی تنازعات کی کثرت اور اتفاق رائے کے فقدان پر نکتہ چینی کی۔ انہوں نے اس سلسلہ میں ہند، امریکہ نیوکلیر معاملت کا حوالہ دیا ، جو بائیں بازو کی مخالفت کی بناء پر تعطل کا شکار بن گیا ہے ۔ انہوں نے دفتر شاہی پر الزام عائد کیا کہ اسے دفاعی و فوجی امور کا علم و تجریہ نہیں ہے۔ سابق فوجی سربراہ نے بتایا کہ یہ انداز فکر ملک کے لیے دفاعی مفادات کے مغائر ہے۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ آزادی کے 60سال بعد بھی ہمارے بیشتر سیاسی قائدین و سرکاری عہدیداروں میں دفاع اور فوجی امور پر علم و تجربہ کا فقدان ہے۔

شمالی وزیرستان ۔ امریکی جاسوس طیاروں نے ایک بار پھر پاکستانی حدود کی خلاف ورزی کرتے ہوئے شمالی وزیرستان کے علاقے پر پروازیں شروع کر دی ہیں امریکی جاسوس طیاروں نے جمعرات کی صبح میر علی، غلام خان ، انگور اڈہ اور دیگر کئی علاقوں پر نچلی پروازیں کی ہیں جس کی وجہ سے عوام میں خوف و ہراس کی لہر دوڑ گئی ہے امریکی طیاروں کی پاکستانی سرحدی حدود کی یہ پہلی خلاف ورزی نہیں بلکہ اس سے پہلے بھی کئی بار جاسوس طیارے پاکستان کی حدود میں داخل ہوئے ہیں

اسامہ بن لادن اور ان کے ساتھی پاکستان کے قبائلی علاقوں میں روپوش ہیں۔ ۔ ۔ بارک اوباما کا دعویٰ

واشنگٹن ۔ امریکہ کی ڈیمو کریٹک پارٹی کے صدارتی امیدوار بارک اوباما نے دعویٰ کیا ہے کہ اسامہ بن لادن اور ان کے ساتھی پاکستان کے قبائلی علاقوں میں روپوش ہیں اور یہیں سے اپنے آڈیو پیغامات جاری کرتے ہیں ایسوسی ایٹڈ پریس کے مطابق واشنگٹن میں قومی سلامتی کے تیرہ رکنی نئے مشیروں کی ٹیم سے ملاقات کے بعد نیوز کانفرنس کرتے ہوئے بارک اوباما نے کہاکہ وہ صدر بننے کے بعد اسامہ بن لادن کو ہر صورت انصاف کے کٹہرے میں لائیں گے اگر اسامہ بن لادن مارے بھی گئے تو کوئی انہیں شہید نہیں کہے گا انہوں نے 1998ء میں صدر کلنٹن کے دور میں جاری ہونے والے ایک خفیہ نوٹیفکیشن کا حوالہ دیا جس میں سی آئی اے کو اسامہ بن لادن کو گرفتاری کے فوری بعد مار دینے کے احکامات جاری کئے گئے تھے اوباما کا کہنا تھا کہ وہ یہ نہیں بتانا چاہتے کہ اسامہ بن لادن کی زندہ گرفتاری کیلئے وہ کیا طریقہ اختیار کریں گے لیکن اگر امریکی حکومت کو ان کا ٹھکانہ معلوم ہوا تو شاید اسامہ زندہ نہ بچ سکیں بارک اوباما نے مزید کہا کہ اسامہ بن لادن اور ان کے ساتھی پاکستانی قبائلی علاقوں میں آزادانہ نقل وحرکت کر رہے ہیں جو دہشت گردوں کے خلاف صدر بش اور ری پبلکن پارٹی کی غلط پالیسیوں کا نتیجہ ہے ۔

دہشت گرد پاکستان میں بیٹھ کر نائن الیون جیسے واقعہ کی منصوبہ بندی کر رہے ہیں ، حادثہ دوبارہ پیش آیا تو اس کا ذمہ دار پاکستان ہو گا صدر پرویز مشرف

راولپنڈی ۔ صدر پرویز مشرف نے کہا ہے کہ امریکہ اور یورپی یونین نے پاکستان کو بتایا ہے کہ دہشت گرد پاکستان میں بیٹھ کر نائن الیون جیسے واقعہ کی منصوبہ بندی کر رہے ہیں اور اگر ایسا حادثہ دوبارہ پیش آیا تو اس کا ذمہ دار پاکستان ہو گا صدارتی کیمپ آفس میں ایک نجی ٹی وی کے ساتھ گفتگو میں صدر مشرف نے انکشاف کیا کہ کچھ عرصے سے پاکستان سے گرفتار دہشت گردوں سے امریکہ اور بعض یورپی ملکوں کی اہم تنصیبات کے نقشے ملے ہیں اور امریکہ اس بات سے با خبر ہے صدر مشرف نے خدشہ ظاہر کیا کہ اگر حکومت نے سنجیدگی سے نہ لیا تو امریکہ پاکستان کو ٹائیٹ کر سکتا ہے صدر کا کہنا تھا کہ جس تواتر سے امریکہ کے اعلیٰ عہدیدار پاکستان آ رہے ہیں اس سے اندازہ ہو تا ہے کہ امریکہ تحفظات بتا چکا ہے صدر مشرف کا خیال تھا کہ مستقبل میں اگر یورپی یا امریکہ میں نائن الیون جیسا واقعہ پیش آیا تو امریکہ اور اتحادی پاکستان کو ذمہ دار سمجھیں گے اور شاید پاکستان پھر نائن الیون والی سطح پر آ جائے اور اس بار امریکہ کا نشانہ افغانستان نہیں ہو گا اس سوال پرکہ کیا امریکہ کا اگلہ نشانہ پاکستان ہو گا صدر نے چپ سادھ لی۔

صدرمشرف مستعفی ہوں ‘ عدلیہ بحال کیا جائے ‘ فوجی آپریشن بند کیے جائیں ۔اے پی ڈی ایم

اسلام آباد۔ آل پارٹیز ڈیمو کریٹک موومنٹ نے مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ صدر جنرل (ر) پرویز مشرف فی الفور صدارت چھوڑ دیں ۔ عدلیہ کو 2 نومبر کی پوزیشن پر بحال کیا جائے ۔ بلوچستان اور ملک کے دوسرے حصوں یں فوجی آپریشن بند کیا جائے ۔ اے پی ڈی ایم کے دو روزہ اجلاس کے خاتمے پر جاری ہونے والے اعلامیے میں یہ مطالبات کیے گئے اے پی ڈی ایم کے سربراہ محمود خان اچکزئی نے جمعرات کو پریس کانفرنس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ اے پی ڈی ایم جولائی کے پہلے ہفتے میں اجلاس میں مستقبل کے لائحہ عمل طے کرے گا۔ انہوں نے اعلامیہ کی تفصیلات بتاتے ہوئے کہا کہآل پارٹیز ڈیمو کریٹک موومنٹ( اے پی ڈی ایم) کے تحت 18 اور 19 جون 2008 ء کو اسلام آباد میں منعقدہ قومی کانفرنس نے لندن میںگزشتہ سال منعقدہ کل جماعتی کانفرنس اور اے پی ڈی ا یم کے 18 دسمبر2007 ء کے اعلامیے کی توثیق کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ عوام نے 18 فروری کو جو مینڈیٹ دیا ہے اس نے 3 نومبر کو نافذ کی گئی ایمرجنسی اور اس کے نتیجے میں اعلی عدالتوں کے ججز کو اپنے عہدوں سے ہٹانے کا اقدام کو ناقابل قبول ہے ۔ اس مینڈیٹ کے ذریعے عوام توقع رکھتے ہیں کہ پرویز مشرف نے جو غیر آئینی اقدام کیے انہیں ردکردیا جائے ۔ یہ عوامی دباؤ اے پی ڈی ایم کے مضبوط موقف اور ملک میں میڈیا کے بھرپور تعاون سے جاری وکلاء ‘ سول سوسائٹی اور عوام کے دیگر طبقات کی تحریک کا نتیجہ تھا کہ حکومتی اتحاد میں شامل جماعتوں کو اعلان بھوربن کرنا پڑا۔ یہ عوامی دباؤ اور 18 فروری کے مینڈیٹ کی ہی طاقت تھی جس کے بل بوتے پر نامزد وزیراعظم کو نظر بند ججوں کی فی الفور رہائی اور حال ہی میں ان کی تنخواہوں کے احکامات جاری کرنے پڑے۔ نئی حکومت تاہم اعلان بھوربن سے پیچھے ہٹ چکی ہے ا ور یہ پرویز مشرف کے ساتھ گٹھ جوڑ کرکے ایسے راستوں کی تلاش میں ہے جس سے برطرف ججوں کی بحالی کے معاملے کو محدود اور کنٹرول میں رکھا جاسکے ۔ مجوزہ آئینی پیکج پر ویز مشرف کے تین نومبر کے غیر آئینی اقدام کو تحفظ دینے اور عدلیہ کو حکومتی اتھارٹی کے سامنے جھکانے کی کوشش ہے ۔ حکومت نہ صرف عدلیہ کے بارے میں ڈکٹیٹر کی پالیسیوں کوجاری رکھے ہوئے ہے بلکہ حکومت کے دیگر معاملات میں بھی اسٹیبلشمنٹ کے ایجنڈے پر عمل پیرا ہے ۔ بلوچستان میں فوجی آپریشن پورے زورو شور سے جاری ہے معصوم لوگوں کو جان سے مارا جا رہا ہے کوہلو اور بگتی کے لوگوں کو مجبور کیا جا رہا ہے کہ وہ اپنے گھروں کو چھوڑ دیں ۔ نواب اکبر بگٹی اور بالاچ مری کو قتل کیے جانے (جان سے مار دینے) کی آج تک کوئی تحقیق نہیں کی جا سکی اگرچہ بلوچستان میں منتخب حکومت قائم ہے لیکن بلوچستان ابھی تک محاصرے میں ہے ۔ یہ دعوی کہ نئی حکومت عوام کو کپڑا اورمکان دے گی نئے بجٹ کے اعلان سے یہ اس دعوے کی قلعی کھل گئی ہے ۔ نیا بجٹ امیروں کے مفاد کا تحفظ کرتا ہے جبکہ غریبوں پر نئے ٹیکسوں کا مزید بوجھ ڈال دیا گیا ہے ۔ بجٹ ورلڈ بینک اور عالمی مالیاتی اداروں کی ہدایات کے مطابق تیار کیا گیا ہے اور لوگوں کو روٹی‘ کپڑے اور مکان کی سہولیات سے محروم کردیا گیا ہے ان حالات میںو کلاء برادری کی طرف سے لانگ مارچ کی صورت میں ایک بڑی عوامی تحریک کے انعقاد کا فیصلہ کیا جس میں اے پی ڈی ایم ‘ سول سوسائٹی اور عوام الناس کے مختلف طبقات نے بھرپور شرکت کی۔ یہ کانفرنس عظیم لانگ مارچ کے کامیاب انعقاد پر کانفرنس کے منتظمین کو مبارکباد پیش کرتی ہے اور مستقبل میں اپنی بھرپور حمایت کا یقین دلاتی ہے اندریں حالات یہ ظاہر ہوتا ہے کہ موجودہ حکمران لانگ مارچ کے شرکاء کے مطالبات کوپوراکرنے کے لیے تیار نہیں ہیں ۔ لوگ اس صورت حال سے سخت مایوسی کا شکار ہیں اور وہ اپنے مقاصد کو حاصل کرنے کے لیے جدوجہد کو جاری رکھنا چاہتے ہیں ۔ یہ قومی کانفرنس مطالبہ کرتی ہے کہ اعلی عدالتوں کے ججز کو 2 نومبر 2007 کی پوزیشن کے مطابق بحال کیا جائے ۔ پرویز مشرف کے تمام غیر آئینی اقدامات بالخصوص 3 نومبر کے غیر آئینی اقدام کو رد کیا جائے ۔ پرویز مشرف کو فی الفور صدارت چھوڑ دینی چاہیے ۔ بلوچستان مین جاری تمام فوجی اور نیم فوجی آپریشن بند کیے جائیں ۔ نواب اکبربگٹی ‘ بالاچ مری اور دیگر بے گناہ ا فراد کے قتل عام کی فی الفور عدالتی تحقیقات کروائی جائیں مشرف کے دور میںلاپتہ کیے جانے والے افراد کو فی الفور بازیاب کیا جائے ۔ کراچی میںسانحہ نشر پارک ‘ 12 مئی 2007 ء اور 9 اپریل 2008 ء کے المناک واقعات میں بے گناہ افراد کے جانوں سے ہاتھ دھو بیٹھنے کی عدالتی تحقیقات کی جائیں اور ذمہ دار افراد کو قرار واقعی سزا ئیں دی جائیں ۔ قبائلی علاقوں ‘ سوات ‘ باجوڑ اور ملک کے دیگر حصوں میں معصوم لوگوں کے خلاف جاری فوجی آپریشن کو فی الفور بند کیا جائے ۔ ا ور ان علاقوں کو بیرونی عناصر سے پاک کیا جائے ۔ ا وروہاں قانون کی عملداری کویقینی بنایا جائے ۔ پاکستان کی خود مختاری جو حقیقی خطرے میں ہے اس کے تحفظ کویقینی بنایا جائے ۔ فیڈریشن کے تمام یونٹس کو مکمل صوبائی خود مختاری دی جائے اور ان کے اقتصادی اور قدرتی وسائل پر ان کے کنٹرول کو تسلیم کیا جائے ۔سیلز ٹیکس اور کیپٹل ٹیکس کی شرح میں کمی کی جائے ۔ عوام کودی جانے والی تمام مالی مراعات اور سبسڈیز کو بحال کیا جائے ۔ روزہ مرہ استعمال کی اشیاء کی قیمتوں کو کم کیا جائے اور انہیں بڑھنے سے روکاجائے ۔ انڈسٹریل ریلیشنز آرڈنینس 2001 ء کو منسوخ کیا جائے او رآئی ایل او کے چارٹر کے تحت کارکنوں کو نوکری کا تحفظ ‘ یونین سازی اور ہڑتال کا حق اور دوسرے بنیادی حقوق د ئیے جائیں ۔ میڈیا بالخصوص جیو پر لاگو تمام پابندیوں کو ختم کیا جائے ۔ یہ کانفرنس پریس اور الیکٹرانک میڈیا کی طرف سے عوام کی جاری جدوجہد کی سپورٹ کرنے پر میڈیا کے کردار کو سراہتی ہے اور امید کرتی ہے کہ یہ سپورٹ جاری رہے گی ۔ اے پی ڈی ایم جولائی میں مستقبل کا لائحہ عمل طے کرے گی ‘ 16 کروڑ عوام کی تحریک کاراستہ نہ روکاجائے ضروری ہوا تو سول نافرمانی تحریک چلائیں گے ۔ پی سی اووالے ججوں کا گھیراؤ کریں گے۔

شریف برادران اہلیت کیس میں عدالت عالیہ نے پیش نہ ہونے پر شریف برادران کا حق دفاع ختم کردیا

لاہور۔ لاہور ہائی کورٹ کے مسٹر جسٹس فضل میراں چوہان ، مسٹر جسٹس حسنات احمد خان اور مسٹر جسٹس احسن بھون پر مشتمل فل بینچ نے شریف برادران کے اہلیت کیس میں ان کے دفاع کا حق ختم کرتے ہوئے سماعت کل تک ملتوی کردی۔ تفصیلات کے مطابق جمعرات کے روز شریف برادران کے خلاف اہلیت کیس کی سماعت کرنے والے لاہور ہائی کورٹ کے فل بینچ کے سامنے سمن تعمیل کرانے والے اہلکاروں نے رپورٹ پیش کی کہ شریف برادران کو نوٹس کی تعمیل کروادی گئی ہے جس پر عدالت عالیہ نے شریف برادران کے عدالت میں پیش نہ ہونے پر ان کا دفاع کا حق ختم کردیا ہے جبکہ کیس میں فریق بننے کیلئے سپیکر پنجاب اسمبلی، حکومت پنجاب ، میاں نوازشریف کے تائید کنندہ مہر ظفر اور سپریم کورٹ بار کے ایگزیکٹو رکن خواجہ طارق سہیل و اے کے ڈوگر کی فریق بننے کی درخواستوں کی سماعت پر بحث مکمل ہونے پر کیس کی سماعت کل تک ملتوی کردی ہے۔ کل درخواست دہندہ کے وکلاء کے دلائل سنے جائیں گے۔

عوام بجلی کے بل ادا کرنے سے انکار کر دیں ، پیپلز پارٹی کے رہنما مخدوم امین فہیم

اسلام آباد ۔ پیپلز پارٹی کے رہنما امین فہیم نے کہا ہے کہ ایک عام آدمی کو بجلی کی سہولت سے محروم کرنا صریحاً ناانصافی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ عوام کو چاہیے کہ وہ اس نا انصافی کے خلاف بطور احتجاج بجلی کے بل ادا کرنے سے انکار کر دیں ۔ یہاں جمعرات کو پارلیمنٹ ہاؤس کے باہر میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے امین فہیم نے کہاکہ عوام کو چاہیے کہ وہ بجلی کے بل ادا کرنا بند کر دیں ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بجلی کی فراہمی پورے ملک کے عوام کے لیے یقنی بنانا حکومت اور واپڈا کی ذمہ داری ہے اور مراعات یافتہ طبقہ بجلی کی عدم فراہمی سے متاثر نہیں ہوتا بلکہ لوڈشیڈنگ تو غریبوں پر ہی بجلی بن کر گرتی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ غریبوںکو تو گرمیوں کے موسم میں صرف پنکھے کے لیے ہی بجلی درکار ہوتی ہے اور اگر وہ پنکھا بھی نہ چلا سکیں اور انہیں بل پورا ادا کرنا پڑے یہ کہاں کا انصاف ہے بلکہ یہ کھلم کھلا دھاندلی ہے اور اس دھاندلی کو ختم ہوناچاہیے ۔ ایک سوال کے جواب میں انہوںنے کہاکہ یہ بجٹ عام آدمی کا بجٹ نہیں کہہ سکتا ۔ بجٹ ایسا ہونا چاہیے کہ جس سے عوام کو ریلیف ملے ۔ امین فہیم نے کہاکہ موجودہ حکومت بھی غیر ملکی آقاؤں کے اشارے پر کام کر رہی ہے اور ان کے کہنے پر ہی پٹرولیم کی مصنوعات پر سبسڈی واپس لی جا رہی ہے۔

غلام مصطفی کھر نے بھی نئی سیاسی جماعت بنانے کا فیصلہ کرلیا
جھنگ ۔ سابق گورنر پنجاب ملک غلام مصطفی کھر نے بھی نئی سیاسی جماعت بنانے کا عندیہ دیدیا۔ آج ہمارے نمائندے سے فون پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ نئی سیاسی جماعت کے نام اور منشور پر کام ہورہا ہے۔ کاغذی کاروائی مکمل ہونے پر اس کا باضابطہ اعلان کردیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ ان کی پارٹی میں منجھے ہوئے تجربہ کار سیاسی لوگ شامل ہوں گے جو ملک کو صاف ستھری اور جمہوری سیاست فراہم کریں گے۔ایک سوال پر انہوں نے کہا کہ انہیں مسلم لیگ (ن) اور پیپلز پارٹی کے درمیان سیاسی اتحاد چلتا نظر نہیں آرہا۔ دونوں سیاسی جماعتوں نے جن ایشوز کی بنیاد پر آپس میں اتحاد قائم کیا تھا وہ سارے ویسے ہی موجود ہیںاور اب تک ایک مسئلہ بھی حل نہیں ہوا اس لئے دونوں جماعتیں زیادہ دیر تک ایک دوسرے کو برداشت نہیں کرسکیں گی۔

ممبئی ۔ انتہا پسند ہندو تنظیم شیوسینا سربراہ بال ٹھاکرے نے ہندوؤں سے کہا کہ ان کی حفاظت صرف اسی وقت ممکن ہے جب وہ اسلامی دہشت گردی کا مقابلہ کرنے کے لیے خودکش دستے تیار کریں ۔ شیوسینا کے ترجمان اخبار سامنا میں لکھے گئے ایک سخت اداریہ میں ٹھاکرے نے تھانہ اور واشی میں ہندو تنظیموں کی جانب سے بم دھماکوں کے حالیہ و اقعات کا مضحکہ اڑایا ۔ اور کہاکہ خود کش بمباروں کو چاہیئے تھا کہ عوام کو نشانہ بنانے کے بجائے مراٹھی ڈرامہ کے دائریکٹر / پرڈویوسر اور رائٹر کو نشانہ بناتے ۔ تھانے کے ایک آڈیٹوریم میںا یک ڈرامہ کے دوران ہوئے دھماکہ میں سات افراد زخمی ہوئے تھے۔ ان دھماکوں میں ہندو جاگرن منچ اور سناتن پر بھارت تنظیموں کو ملوث قرار دیاگیا ہے ۔ ٹھاکرے نے کہا کہ ان تنظیموں کو مزید طاقتور بم بنانا چاہیئے ۔ ڈرامہ تھیٹروں پر دھماکوں کے بجائے انہیں چاہئے کہ ان علاقوں میں دہشت پھیلائیں جہاں بنگلہ دیشی رہتے ہیں ا داریہ میںکہا گیا کہ ہندوؤں کے ملوث ہونے کی خبریںپڑھ کر ہمیں بڑی مسرت ہوئی لیکن جب یہ پتہ چلا کہ یہ دھماکوں کی وجہ سے ہمارے ہی طبقہ کے کچھ لوگ زخمی ہوئے ہیں تو ہمیںبڑی شرم محسوس ہوئی ۔ ٹھاکرے نے کہا کہ تاریخ گواہ ہے کہ چھتر پتی شیوا جی مہاراج نے تلوار کے ذریعہ مغلوں سے ہندوؤں کی حفاظت کی ۔ تحریک آزادی کے دورانل وک مانیہ تلک نے کھل کر ہندو توا کی حمایت کی جس کے نتیجے مین کانگریس میں ہندوؤں کی آواز میں اضافہ ہوا
